more sewn

I am really enjoying sewing. Every time i sew i learn a new trick, and i hope to someday become very good at it. This is the pillow that i made one day over my spring break. I've always wanted a cylindrical pillow...

Children

I have several interesting individuals as students this year.  They always add color and a unique flavor to every day.  It keeps life from getting boring I guess.

I have 2 classes of 7th grade and 2 of 8th this year (with other classes as well), but the younger kids are the source of all of this interesting entertainment.  A few quotes from a very sweet, very dramatic 7th grade girl.

"The colors!  All of the colors!  They're giving me headaches!  All of the colors!"

"I know its strange but I feel a connection with the stars.  I just look at them each night and they seem so familiar somehow..."

And one from an interesting and almost over-active boy about a different girl in responce to my interigations,

"No.  We wanted to push her, but we didn't so we just called her names."

I just love the honesty there.  I can't help but to really like and appreciate his frankness.

exercise

I've been doing this a lot more lately, and while exercising, i love to listen to music. While power walking around campus (where i live) i smiled when a certain song came on and realized that you can't not be happy while listening to M. Mothersbaugh, esp. his music to "Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou".

(thanks cathy!)

sewing toys

I got a pattern for "pointy kitty" at wee wonderfuls. I derived the lion from this same pattern. My cheap sewing machine is in the background.

These two toys are going to be gifts, so i personalized both.

This is my favorite picture, their large faces are just so cute!
